The holiday season kicks off in fall with our annual Thanksgiving Dinner and Clothing Boutique. Started in 1979, this celebration is a wonderful way to share a holiday of abundance with those in need. Learn more about how you can participate or make a donation at www.stmonica.net/thanksgiving.
We then enter into the season of Advent as we prepare to celebrate Christmas. As part of our Advent outreach, St. Monica (1) collaborates with the St. Joseph Center Family Program to ensure that their families have a holiday dinner, a family gift, and toys for their children, (2) conducts a toy drive for local children in need, and (3) hosts a holiday party for the families from the St. Joseph Center. Pick up your Toy Drive Angel on November 30!

Each year St. Monica collects toys for local schools—Muir, Grant, Edison, McKinley, Will Rogers, and Covenant House—a shelter for homeless young adults and their babies. For many of these youth, your gift may be the only toy they receive this year. Toy Drive Angel Ornaments with a child’s gender and age are available beginning November 30. Take an angel, purchase a toy, and place it unwrapped in toy collection bins by Sunday, Dec. 8. Contact Christine Gerety at [email protected] or (310) 566-1531.
Be An Elf!
Help us collect and sort donated gifts by age, gender, and specific requests. Help assemble gift packages for children in local schools on Sunday, Dec. 8, and Sunday, Dec. 15. Contact Christine Gerety at [email protected] or (310) 566-1531 if you can serve on any of those days.

All of our Families and Singles have been adopted!!
Because of your generosity, St. Monica has adopted 165 families and provided stockings for 500 singles from the St. Joseph Center!! The Christmas spirit is clearly alive and well in you! Thank you for your thoughtfulness and kindness this holiday season. We hope you will be a part of our Adopt a Family/Stockings for Singles efforts again in 2020. The St. Joseph Center Holiday Carnival is coming to town!
Saturday, Dec. 14, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., St. Monica will host the annual St. Joseph Center Holiday Party. Our auditorium will become a hub of energy as hundreds of children and their parents enjoy carnival games, a tasty lunch, music, an exciting raffle, and a visit from Santa!
