First Holy Communion or First Eucharist is one of the three Sacraments of Initiation. It is the Body and Blood of Jesus Himself and food for our journey of faith.
At St. Monica, children receive two years of sacramental preparation before receiving the Eucharist regardless of what age or grade level students enter into the program. Typically children receive first Eucharist in the 2nd grade however, we do have special classes designed for children who enter the program after 2nd grade. Students must be enrolled in our Religious Education program in order to participate. Go to Faith Formation for more information about the program and how to register.
Adults participate in our Initiation process to prepare to receive their first communion. Click for more information: Initiation Process
